Noeline Millar - Fine Artist

Born in Sydney, Noeline started painting in 1962. She has spent the last 52 years learning, practising and experimenting with all types of media in her search for creative expression. During an extensive stay in Townsville, North Queensland she was a volunteer diver with the Marine Institute, which resulted in many paintings of the Great Barrier Reef in addition to her Rainforest series from that period.

She uses oils, watercolours, acrylics and all types of drawing materials to make works of art that depict her love of light on her subject, be it landscape, seascape or figure studies. More recently her portfolio contains paintings of Italy - the results of travels in that beautiful country.

Noeline moved to the Central Coast in 2002 and has delighted in finding a huge range of new scenes and subjects. From Norah Head where she lives, south to Patonga and west to Yarramalong is "inspirational".

She has taught classes privately, at TAFE College and for the Queensland Arts Council, but now devotes herself to painting full time. She is available for some workshops and demonstrations and leads an occasional painting trip. Millar paintings have been purchased for many Municipal Councils and are found in public and private collections both in Australia and overseas. Features have been published in Australian Artist, Artist Palette and Dive Magazines (this last after an underwater series).

She has won many Major Art Prizes, and was awarded the title of Artist of the Year in 1998, 2000 and 2006 in the Combined Art Societies of Sydney.
